This survey was initiated by GNA in
2000 with the backing of several, significant, Australian utility organisations.
A related survey covering energy exploration and production was
introduced by the National Remuneration Centre in the early 1990's. This current survey, covering energy producers,
distributors and retailers,
water producers and retailers, and utility regulators is the leading source of remuneration
information for the the utilities sector in Australia.
The survey includes data from organisations in all States, both government and non-government
owned.
Approximately 200 jobs covering all key functions are examined (see list of jobs covered).
In 2007 fifty-six organisations contributed data to the survey.
The survey is conducted each year in April and a Report is
produced giving a comprehensive salary package
analysis for each survey position. Data collection for the survey is on-line and includes a salary package calculation facility.
Analyses include a breakdown of remuneration level by size of utility as measures by
annual revenue,
by ownership (government or private), and by sector (water or energy).
The survey examines short term incentive payments, providing an
analysis of incentive targets and ceilings.
Salary movements and forecasts are reported.
The survey is position description matched and job evaluated, and results
are provided on that basis.
Utilities that do not particpate in the survey can buy individual
survey Reports.
The price per Report for the current or upcoming issue (April 2008), including GST and delivery
within Australia, is Aus$4,950. (For purchases from outside
Australia: Aus$4,500 including delivery.) Purchase of a Report or participation in the survey includes a limited
licence to the National Remuneration Centre's on-line job evaluation
system JobscoreTM.
Reports are currently provided on-line and in hard-copy form. A
demonstration of the style of analysis provided on-line, and the data collection, is available.
Reports may only be purchased by utilities organisations and those providing utility services.
All orders should be made on an official document of the purchasing
organisation, indicating the officer to whom the Report should be sent, and the street address
for courier delivery. Reports are sent under strictly private and confidential cover.
Our account is sent with the Report.
