JOBSCORETM

Choose an Organisation to contain a Job Evaluated role.

Why do I do this?

An aspect of Jobscore is that every job in an organisation contributes to the organisation as a whole. Another Jobscore consideration is that the more complex the organisation the greater the level of skill required to manage its affairs. Organisational complexity varies from one organisation to another; therefore, to impute the correct degree of complexity into a particular job evaluation the job must be associated with its organisation.

Steps to do this:

  • From this Menu select the entry 'Job Evaluation' to display the Job List screen:

This Job List screen is a major, central screen for accessing and managing job evaluations and displaying their details. (Once a job evaluation has been created other functions of this screen will be explained under the heading Review a Job Evaluation.)

Included on this screen is a list of Companies created by the user. To select the company to be worked with, click on the company's name shown in the field labelled 'Company'. To see a list of all companies created by the user, click on the downward pointing arrow at the right-hand end of the Company display, as follows:

Once the Company is selected in this manner, click on the Create a Job Evaluation button. This will display the Add New Evaluation screen, the screen used to create a new evaluation:

You are now in a position to create a job evaluation by specifying the job's skill requirements.

To develop a robust evaluation, you will need:

  • A good understanding of what the job is about or, at least, a very good job description.
  • An organisation chart showing:
         (a) the position the job reports to
         (b) other positions reporting to the same superior
         (c) the roles of all positions reporting directly to the job being evaluated
         (d) the number of employees in the job's various areas of authority.
