Jobscore system site layout.
Jobscore forms part of the extensive NRC website on human resource management information.
The Jobscore Welcome page, which leads to general information about, and the
charges to use Jobscore, can be accessed from several locations in the NRC
site. The Jobscore on-line Manual which gives a comprehensive description of
the aspects of a job measured by Jobscore to arrive at an evaluation is
accessed via the Jobscore Welcome page, and from relevant parts within the
Jobscore system area.
The Jobscore system lays within the Secure Access area of the NRC website.
The secure area also contains data contributed to NRC surveys by various
organisations, and survey results. Access to these three areas,
Jobscore, data, and survey results is controlled by
User Name and
Password. Entry to the secure area
is via a log in screen reached from
the Jobscore Welcome page and several other locations throughout the NRC site.
On successful entry into the secure area the Secure Access Main Menu is
displayed.
This menu contains links to those parts of the secure area that your User
Name has authority to enter. Depending on the User Name there may be links
to other areas in addition to Jobscore, such as survey data and survey
results. These latter two are themselves large sub-systems.
Importantly, the Secure Access Main Menu also gives access to an
area where you can
change your password.
Another section gives details of the User's
permissions to access parts of the
secure area, and the expiry date of those permissions.
If your User Name permits, one entry on the Secure Access Main Menu
that will be displayed is the link to Jobscore. On selecting this link the
Jobscore Main Menu is displayed.
The Jobscore Main Menu gives access to the main functions of the Jobscore
system: company parameters,
job evaluation,
and regression set management.
Subordinate to job evaluation is a set of
Template evaluations.
These templates are
example evaluations which can be used as starting points for others.
Requirements to evaluate a job.
A job is evaluated in the context of the
organisation which contains the job. Therefore, before an evaluation for a
job can be determined it is necessary to specify details about the
organisation that contains the job.
The Company Parameters section of the
system is used for this purpose. Details about the job itself are recorded
under the section Job Evaluation.
As a starting point for an evaluation one can refer to a set of
Template evaluations. These templates are
accessed directly from the job evaluation screens.
A salary level corresponding to a job can be calculated by the system,
based on equations derived from salary surveys. To specify this data the
Regression Set Management area is used.
Each individual screen in the system has on-screen explanation, and/or
links to on-line help. For further assistance contact your Jobscore licensor
or the NRC direct.
