Job Brief

Reports to: Senior Financial Accountant or Senior Accounts Clerk
Job Purpose: Provides cashiers services to support effective financial control.
Activities: #Issues receipts and raises credits for cheques and cash received. #Allocates account codes to credits and inputs these to ledgers. #Makes up and undetakes daily bankings. #Ensures safekeeping of cheques and cash held on the company's premises. #Advises treasury of daily account balances and forward projections. #Balances cashbook on a daily, weekly, monthly and annual basis. #Periodically reconciles bank statements to cashbook. #May coordinate cheque printing and issuance; act as a signatory. #Liaises with credit controller regarding contra accounts.
Qualifications: Year 12 and 2-3 years experience. May have commenced accounting studies.
