Job Brief

Reports to: Head Librarian or more senior administrative position
Job Purpose: Organises the effective and efficient use of the library and its resources to support ready access to information.
Activities: Typically: #Supports access of staff to current information on developing issues or topics by conducting on-line searches. #Ensures that incoming publications are correctly receipted by cataloguing or identifying as loan material. #Supports rapid location of material by providing a reference service as needed. #Provides user education in use of library resources. #Supports staff briefing through regular distribution of periodicals and journals.
Qualifications: A tertiary degree plus an acceptable librarianship qualification. Generally 4-6 years experience.
