Job Brief
|
Reports to: Supply Manager
Job Purpose: Supervises and undertakes purchase activities to ensure availability of materials
and services to operating units.
Activities: #Works with users to interpret specifications. #Investigates supply sources regarding availability,
quality and price. #Negotiates larger or more complex orders with preferred suppliers. #Coordinates distribution of
goods; supervises contracts #May supervise store or warehouse operations, including stock control. #Analyses
supplier lead times, delivery, quality and price performance to increase purchasing effectiveness.
Qualifications: May have a tertiary qualification or supply certificate or diploma, plus 4-5 years purchasing
experience.
